On one of his sojourns, he meets the love of his life, Claire (Rachel McAdams), and they marry. But the problems and complexities of any relationshi<span class=\"yZlgBd\">p are multiplied by Henry\u2019s inability to remain in one time and place, so that he and his beloved are continually out of sync.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Moffat released a statement after the news of the TV version was aired:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI read Audrey Niffenegger\u2019s The Time Traveler\u2019s Wife many years ago, and I fell in love with it. In fact, I wrote a Doctor Who episode called \u2018The Girl In The Fireplace\u2019 as a direct response to it. When, in her next novel, Audrey had a character watching that very episode, I realized she was probably on to me. All these years later, the chance to adapt the novel itself, is a dream come true. The brave new world of long form television is now ready for this kind of depth and complexity.
